Community Action Dacorum is a charity based in Old Town, Hemel Hempstead. We provide a circle of support to the community. As a council for voluntary service, Community Action Dacorum believes in bringing people together to achieve more in their communities and improve quality of life. We support voluntary organisations and community groups at the early stages of development and beyond by providing support, funding advice, representation and a payroll service to enable them to grow and flourish.
Course fees are subsidised and any proceeds go back into the project to offer more low-cost courses. Learners can apply for funding from the project to support their attendance at courses if they are unable to meet the full fee. These courses can also be provided for local businesses and the private/statutory sectors in general. The project welcomes the support of volunteers who can offer help with course administration and marketing.
HAFLS & Creative Learning are regulated by Ofsted
Creative Learning is an adult education project hosted by Community Action Dacorum and funded by Hertfordshire Adult and Family Learning Service, HAFLS. Our courses are delivered through a team of tutors primarily drawn from the local community and include skills for life/work, well being, cookery/nutrition and women only courses. We provide courses of need or for fun and start them mostly by request. If there is a particular course you would like to see provided locally, please let us know. All our courses are aimed at adults and we are particularly keen to support those who may find it difficult to access mainstream education.

We aim to provide a voice for the local voluntary and community sector and bring groups together to share skills and expertise and develop a collective voice. In addition to the support provided to local groups we also deliver a number of direct services and projects that support local individuals, businesses and community groups. These include a Community Transport Service, Connect Dacorum, Herts Interpreting and Translation Service and Hemel Hempstead Shopmobility.
